Our 40th President

Ronald Wilson Reagan

Video Collection

Produced by Tom Edmonds with the full cooperation of President Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan, this video reveals the true All-American story. The story that will make you laugh, that will make you cry, that will make many Americans long for the days of Ronald Reagan. The video highlights the 1980s, from the 40th anniversary of D-Day when President Reagan stood “on a lonely, windswept point on the northern shore of France” and recounted the bravery of “The Boys of Pointe du Hoc” to his masterful speech at the Berlin Wall when he flatly said, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall.”

It tells of President Reagan’s boyhood days, shows his Hollywood film clips, includes his historic "Time for Choosing” speech, and delights viewers with his humorous one-liners.

Mr. Edmonds conducted hundreds of hours of interviews with key members of President Reagan’s staff, offering rare insight and analysis not available anywhere else. All of this combines to make this award-winning program one of the most important collections of documentary videos on the Reagan Presidency.

“ A Time for Choosing ”

Due to its historical significance, much has been written about A Time for Choosing, Ronald Reagan’s televised appeal on behalf of Barry Goldwater’s bid for the Presidency.  The speech was first televised on Tuesday, October 27, 1964.  However, Reagan’s speech was delivered many times in slightly modified forms prior to the network broadcast.  Many cite ”The Speech” as the starting point of the ”Reagan Revolution.“  It certainly launched one of the most successful political careers in recent history and helped Ronald Reagan secure his place as icon of American Politics.

Reagan’s Last Public Address

Unknown to anyone that evening was the fact that this would be the last public address Ronald Reagan would ever make.
